"Guardians of the immune system" in Science Communication Lab
TRR 355 for the second time at Deutsches Museum Munich
From the lab to the museum 🧪✨
From April 10–12, researchers from institutions across Munich came together to share the Transregional Collaborative Research Centre TRR 355's excitement about immunology, and especially about Tregs, with the public at the Deutsches Museum. 🔬💚
The second edition of “Tregs: The Guardians of the Immune System” took place at a particularly special time, just after the Nobel Prize brought even more attention to these remarkable cells. 🏅✨
During those three days, we had the wonderful opportunity to speak with curious visitors of all ages, share our research, and bring immunology beyond the lab and into a public space for conversation, curiosity, and learning. 🗣️🧠🔍
A very heartfelt thank you to Dr. Judith Gabel and the Munich Science Communication Lab (MSCL) for building bridges between research and the public, and for the valuable support throughout the planning and putting together of the exhibition.
Huge thanks to all the researchers who made this possible: Amina Sayed, Iliana Siamishi, Apurva Dhavale, Nina Olivera Wichmann, Swarna Ramakrishnan, Cylia Helena Crisand, Monica Prechtl, Linda Hammann, Ngoc Thien Thu Nguyen, Catharina Witte, and Hanna Lorencka, as well as coordinator Veronika Flöter for all her valuable support and ideas. Thank you for your enthusiasm in designing models, games and interactive activities, and holding thoughtful and engaging conversations with our curious visitors!
It was truly wonderful to see so much curiosity, excitement, and thoughtful engagement around the guardians of our immune system 💚
